soho's 40th birthday

Do you have any Soho stories, memories or experiences from 1969 - 2009?

To celebrate Soho Theatre’s 40th birthday, we’re staging a new community play exploring our 40-year history in Soho, and looking for people to get involved.

Following the huge success of last year’s promenade play Moonwalking in Chinatown, this production will again be a
collaboration with local residents and organisations, culminating in a theatrical walkabout performance through Soho in April 2009.

Get Involved: Tell us your story

If you live, work, study in, or have any relationship to Soho, Chinatown and the surrounding areas, or have just visited Soho Theatre before, we want you to get involved and get us inspired! Whether its true stories or flights of fancy, we want to hear all about your memories, issues and experiences from the past four decades and to explore your hopes, dreams and ideas about the future for this unique part of London.

Become a researcher
We’re also looking for research volunteers to talk to people and research Soho Theatre’s history with us. Ideally, you would need to have free time in October and November. Just do what you can, when you can.

Perform or help out behind the scenes
We will be looking for people to be involved in the performance either onstage or backstage, creating costumes, making props or as stewards.
