The writers for the 2007 Writers’ Attachment Programme are:


Parv Bancil

Parv has worked with Paines Plough, The Red Room and One Nation Under A Groove to develop CRAZYHORSE, MADE IN ENGLAND and BOLLYWOOD OR BUST, INNIT. He has various screenplays in development including LONDON SAMURAI, a collaboration with David Glass.

Michael Bhim

Michael received the 2005 Alfred Fagon Award and was Writer on Attachment at the Royal Court. He is currently a member of the Tricycle Theatre’s Bloomberg Writers’ group where his play DISTANT VIOLENCE was presented and is also a member of Paines Plough’s Future Perfect scheme.
His play PURE GOLD is in development with Soho Theatre and Talawa.

Anders Lustgarten

Anders’ adaptation of the 1960’s Polish play THE POLICE was presented in February 2007 at BAC. His other plays include THE INSURGENTS and THE PUNISHMENT STORIES which had rehearsed readings at RADA and the Hampstead Theatre respectively. He has taught on Death Row in California and in the prison system in the UK; he has also worked as an academic and a political activist.

Jesse Quinones

Jesse’s play WEIGHTS was presented at the Blue Elephant Theatre in March 2007. He is pursuing a Masters degree in Audio Visual production at London Metropolitan University and is a graduate of the Royal Court’s Young Writers’ Programme. He is a published poet, the writer/director of numerous short films and has worked as a journalist for Drum Magazine and The Voice Newspaper.

Abi Zakarian

Abi’s play A THOUSAND YARDS was presented by Feast Productions at the Southwark Playhouse in 2005. She also works as a picture editor, contributing to Robin Soans’ THE ARAB ISRAELI COOKBOOK and collaborating with a photo-journalist on a series of interwoven monologues and photographs.
