We are pleased to welcome Tom Holloway as our new writer-in-residence. He will be writing a new play during his time with us over the next few weeks.

Tom Holloway will also be leading an Open Access Workshop in May, date to be confirmed shortly. 
There will also be a reading of his new play in May, details to follow shortly. 

Biography:
Tom Holloway is an award-winning Australian playwright who lives in Norway. Plays include Beyond The Neck (Performing Lines, Tasmania, 2008 - winner of the Australian Writers Guild award for Writing For The Stage and to be aired on ABC Radio National in April, this year); Don’t Say The Words (Griffin Theatre Company and Tasmania Theatre, 2008) – short listed for the 2008 New South Wales Premier’s Literary Award; Red Sky Morning (Red Stitch Actors Theatre, 2008) – winner of the 2008 Green Room Award for Best New Australian Play; And No More Shall We Part (A Bit Of Argy Bargy, Melbourne Fringe 2009) –winner Fringe Award Best New Australia Play).

Tom wrote the text for Gambling, which premiered at Soho this March.   

Tom’s play Love Me Tender is currently playing to a sell-out season at Company B Belvoir St in Sydney, Australia after a premiering at the Perth International Arts Festival in February, co-produced by Company B, Griffin Theatre Company and Thin Ice.

In 2006 / 2007 Tom was one of ten writers whose work was selected to be presented as part of the Royal Court Theatre’s International Young Playwright’s Festival.

Tom has written the libretto for a new opera to be performed at the Munich Opera Festival in 2011 and in Australia he is currently under commission to the Bell Shakespeare Company and the Melbourne Theatre Company. UK premieres of two of Tom’s plays are planned for 2010 / 2011.
