41st Best Stand-Up Ever
13 November - 23 December 2007

'My new show is called 41st Best Stand-Up Ever, which reflects my position in a spurious Channel 4 list of the best stand-ups of all time, earlier this year.

I was surprised to be placed at all. There was a lot of debate amongst comics as to the validity of the list, understandably, but I chose to go the other way, embrace it as fact and use it as a marketing tool. Around the country this means I’ve been able to trick confused squares into coming to see me in some big theatres, but around about 200 folks seems like the optimum size for stand-up, where it still feels like a dialogue rather than a rally.

The last stand-up show was a brutal revenge fantasy inspired by religious censorship. This one is about how we value ourselves. There’s two swear words and some wriggling.

Please come. I need this.'

The new stand-up show from the co-writer of Jerry Springer The Opera.

'He is sharp, surprising and self-aware like nobody else. He remains the standard by which his fellow Fringe comics must measure themselves.'

The Times ****

'One of the top three or four living stand-ups.'

Time Out

'Britain’s tenth funniest man.'

Esquire

'Pushing the form like nobody else. Awkward, thrilling stuff.'
